Bad scene in England!

Ashley Westwood (32) suffered a serious ankle injury in the Premier League game between West Ham United and Burnley FC (1-1).

The English professional from Burnley FC was left on the grass after a duel with West Ham’s Nikola Vlasic (24), required treatment for minutes and was then taken to hospital.

Vlasic had unfortunately fallen to Westwood. When he saw the Burnley pro’s unnatural ankle position, he was close to tears. His teammates had to comfort the Croatian.

Burnley said on Twitter that Westwood is doing well and will be examined by a specialist in the next few days. Everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.

The sporting events faded into the background: Ex-Wolfsburg star Wout Weghorst (29) had put the guests in the lead (33rd), Tomas Soucek equalized for the Londoners. Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet shot a penalty next to the goal in added time in the 1st half (45+1).

Burnley, ranked 18th, is in acute danger of relegation and only parted ways with his long-time coach Sean Dyche (50) on Good Friday.
