He scored three of VfL Wolfsburg’s last four goals in the past season. But now offensive man Maximilian Philipp (27) is wondering what the future holds for him and where it will be. His loan to VfL ends on June 30th, Wolfsburg has started negotiations with Philip’s employer, Dynamo Moscow.
Discount for Philipp?
The striker’s contract in Moscow runs again from July 1 and is valid until June 30, 2023. But Philipp does not withdraw to the Russian capital. At the end of the season, he made it clear in relation to VfL Wolfsburg: “We have reached the Champions League, and I did my part. Now I would like to take part in it too. “
A purchase option for around 11 million euros was agreed between Dynamo and the wolves for the loan deal. Wolfsburg did not take this option, but talks have started with Dynamo’s sports director Zeljko Buvac (59) – Jürgen Klopp’s former assistant in Mainz, Dortmund and Liverpool – about a price reduction. The goal: VfL wants to reduce the transfer fee to well below 10 million euros.
Meanwhile, another VfL professional has commented on the departure of coach Oliver Glasner (46) to Eintracht Frankfurt. Xaver Schlager (23) said in the EM training camp of the Austrian national team: “I found out from the media that our coach is gone.”
