VfB Stuttgart: Contract expires – Al Ghaddioui moves to Cyprus

After almost three years at VfB, Hamadi Al Ghaddioui (31) is moving to Pafos FC in Cyprus. There the striker signs a two-year contract plus an option and is already training with his new team-mates for the first time today.

The German-Moroccan switched from second division club Jahn Regensburg to Neckar in July 2019 and was promoted to the Bundesliga with VfB in 2020. Al Ghaddioui scored 13 goals and six assists in 49 competitive games.

VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat (49): “Hamadi has been an important factor in our squad in recent years, both on and off the pitch. He played a large part in the direct promotion back to the Bundesliga and always behaved in the interests of the team even in phases with little playing time.”

Since Al Ghaddioui’s contract with VfB expires in the summer, he is now looking for adventure on the Mediterranean island. The 1.90 meter giant has already said goodbye to the VfB fans on Instagram and wrote a short “thank you”.
