TSV Hannover-Burgdorf: Alfred Gislason nominates Veit Mävers

The European handball championship in Hungary and Slovakia (13.-30.1.) Is casting its shadow. And at the handball Bundesliga club TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, a home-grown player is increasingly becoming the focus.

Gislason nominates Mävers!

On Friday the German Handball Federation (DHB) and national coach Alfred Gislason (62) announced the expanded 35-man squad for the tournament, from which the final squad will be recruited. Recken playmaker Veit Mävers made it into the selection – even on his 21st birthday – but captain Fabian Böhm (32) no longer.

Mävers suspected it on Thursday when he had to present his vaccination certificate to the DHB. The playmaker: “A great honor. I will do my best.”

That also tomorrow (4 p.m., Sky) against TuS N-Lübbecke, the first home game of the warriors with 2G-Plus rule in the ZAG-Arena. 4700 spectators should come in, around 2000 are expected. All need proof of vaccination / recovery. The current negative test does not apply to those who have been boosted; a mask requirement applies everywhere. Players and people working in the hall are subject to the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance and the 3G rule.

► In season C of the 3rd division, table leader TuS Vinnhorst receives Braunschweig today (6 p.m.). Next (today, 7 p.m.): SV Plauen – Eintracht Hildesheim, HSV Hannover – HC Burgenland.
