35 French companies will offer job offers on the government platform this Monday “1 young, 1 solution“.
They are launching the movement, hoping that others will follow suit. In a column published in the Journal du dimanche, thirty-five French companies take up the issue of youth employment and indicate that they will make 10,000 job offers available this Monday. All of them will be published on the government system “1 young person, 1 solution”, launched in the summer of 2020.
Among the companies involved, Leclerc, the Savings Bank, Décathlon, the home food delivery platform Just Eat France but also large temporary workers such as Randstad, Adecco or Manpower. The leaders involved indicate doing so to avoid at all costs that the “today’s youth“Becomes a”sacrificed generation“. And urge the “business leaders of all sizes and in all sectors of activity to submit [leurs] summer job offers on the platform“.
Three to four times more offers
Getting 10,000 job vacancies online is just the start. The objective, ultimately, is “to triple or quadruple the stake before the end of June», Said Thibaut Guilluy, the High Commissioner for Employment and Business Engagement. A new sticker devoted to the search for a seasonal job (or to the publication of an advertisement, for companies) will be made available, according to the sector of activity and the geographical location desired by the user.
The reopening of shops, restaurants and bars, which began on May 19, opens up new opportunities for those under 26. But summer vacancies are just starting to appear. On May 4, the CIDJ thus posted more than 3,500 job offers for summer jobs in Île-de-France. Most often, these summer jobs are obtained thanks to close acquaintances or his own family network, observes Thibaut Guilluy. It is therefore a question of making them more visible and easily accessible. “We have returns from young people in difficulty to find seasonal contracts: they are worried about the lack of visibility, because these jobs allow them to prepare for the start of the school year. And also to go on vacation… Young people need it even more this year», Explains the High Commissioner.
This little job of a few months can take on an almost vital character after such a long period of health crisis, which has damaged the labor market. According to a study by the National Observatory for Student Life, a third of French students said they had encountered financial difficulties since the start of the pandemic. These same students will be essential this summer, even as professional unions fear a labor shortage of 100,000 employees.
