Renault and French tech groups unite

Atos, Dassault Systèmes, STMicroelectronics and Thales join the Software République.

Unite European forces to influence the mobility market of tomorrow. This is the ambition of Software République, a project initiated by Renault CEO Luca de Meo, and in which four heavyweights from the tech industry have joined forces: Atos, Dassault Systèmes, STMicroelectronics and Thales. Each will bring their expertise in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, connectivity and mobility in order to design new products and services. There are multiple objectives: to make traffic more fluid, to develop the connected and autonomous car, to reduce pollution, to offer personalized solutions for each city, etc.

One of the unveiled projects is called Plug and Charge. Its purpose is to create smart electric charging stations, which would identify the car, charge it, and debit its owner’s account without constraints.
