RB is German champion: Umut Gültekin wins Virtual Bundesliga

Now they have made it after all!

After the missed championship and the defeat in the cup final, RB was able to win a title this season. Umut Gültekin (18), one of four FIFA professionals in Leipzig, is the German champion of the “Virtual Bundesliga”!

The PlayStation specialist prevailed 3-1 in the final of the eBundesliga against Dylan “DullenMike” Neuhausen, who played for Freiburg. Gültekin, who is currently taking his Abitur exams, won 40,000 euros in prize money.

Gültekin: “I am very, very happy, I gave everything for this moment! It’s been a tough road since November. It went well for me throughout the tournament, but ‘DullenMike’ was again a strong opponent in the final. “

In the end, Gültekin kept his nerve and crowned a top season for Leipzig. After the Saxons completely rebuilt the gaming department last summer and signed Gültekin from Hamburger SV, RB reached the semifinals in the club competition. Now the championship followed in the individual competition!

And thus the first championship title of the Leipzig in their club history.
