Cristiano Ronaldo’s (37) mobile phone scandal has consequences!
After the 1-0 defeat by Everton, the Manchester United superstar angrily stalked the fans into the dressing room and slapped the phone out of a young fan’s hand. Several footage of the incident were posted on Twitter.
Has now the police in Liverpool have started investigations and Ronaldo is also to be questioned. The police confirmed this on Sunday.
A statement reads: “We can confirm that following an incident at the Goodison game involving a player leaving the pitch, police are conducting an investigation and will be speaking to all parties involved.”
Manchester United have also launched an investigation. But according to “The Sun”, Ronaldo does not have to fear a penalty from the club. The club bosses have accepted the Portuguese’s apology and will not investigate further.
Sarah Kelly, who posed as the mother of the Everton supporter in an interview with the “Liverpool Echo”, raised serious allegations against Ronaldo on Sunday. Her 14-year-old son Jake Harding was “attacked” and “hurt”.
Kelly claims: “After the final whistle the ManUnited players walked off the field. We were close to the tunnel, my son filmed everyone. He held his phone down because Ronaldo pulled his sock down because he was bleeding. Then Ronaldo walked by and slapped the phone out of my son’s hand and just walked on.”
Ronaldo himself regretted the scene a little later and apologized on Instagram: “It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments like the one we’re experiencing right now. However, we must always be respectful and patient and a role model for all young people who love the beautiful game.”
In addition, Ronaldo writes: “I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, invite this fan to watch a game at Old Trafford as a show of fair play and sportsmanship.”
Despite the confession of remorse, Ronaldo is now threatened with a bad aftermath …
