There’s still a little bit of RTL in Formula 1 in 2021.
BILD learned exclusively: Channel expert Timo Glock (38) will be an expert and co-commentator on the pay TV channel Sky in the new season.
Last weekend, the 112-time Grand Prix starter (between 2004 and 2012 for Jordan, Toyota, Virgin and Marussia) was still on the air for Cologne. In the next season, Glock will be seen in a duo with commentator Sascha Roos (48) on Sky.
After 29 years without interruption, RTL loses the TV rights for the premier class at the end of this Formula 1 season.
DTM driver Glock (from 2013) had been a TV expert at RTL since 2018, succeeding Niki Lauda († 70), who retired at the end of 2017. Alternating with Nico Rosberg (35) and Christian Danner (62), Glock analyzed the races on site at the track.
Now the switch to Sky.
The end of the pay station is at the same time for Nick Heidfeld (43). The Mönchengladbacher had his farewell appearance this weekend at the Sakhir Grand Prix.
According to BILD information, Sky will go on air in 2021 with the expert duo Ralf Schumacher (45) and Timo Glock.
