LIVERPOOL ON CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLACE: Klopp celebrates Firmino in Burnley

The Champions League winner of 2019 has the Champions League 2021/22 clearly in mind again. Jürgen Klopp (53) jumps with Liverpool after the 3-0 in Burnley on the qualifying place in the English Premier League. For the first time since mid-February.

And this time the German coach didn’t have to wait for a winning goal from his goalkeeper Alisson Becker, as he did last in the 5th (!) Minute of stoppage time in the 2-1 win against West Bromwich on Sunday.

The ex-Hoffenheimer Roberto Firmino (29) let Klopp cheer shortly before the break. The ninth goal of the season in the 43rd minute opens the gate to the premier class very wide. Because Liverpool now has the Champions League in their own hands again.

Liverpool needs a better result on the final day of the match against Crystal Palace at their home Anfield Road than the tied Leicester against Tottenham. And Liverpool finally have some of their fans back in the stadium …

It’s hard work at Burnley for the English ex-champions, who have been unbeaten in seven games. More than sixty percent possession for the Reds. But Mané, Firmino, Thiago and Salah miss chances on the assembly line. At the same time, Klopp is lucky that Burnley does not take advantage of the mistakes of Liverpool’s emergency defense.
