1. How does the rent control work?

The rent control mechanism, sometimes also called “Supervision of rent increases”, comes from article 6 of the law of March 24, 2014 for access to housing and renovated town planning (Alur). It applies in the 1,149 municipalities covered by the tax on vacant housing, exhaustively listed in decree n ° 2013-392 of May 10, 2013. In these towns, you can freely set your price at the first rental of your accommodation or when it has not been rented for 18 months
