From Friday, these establishments where “wearing a mask is difficult” will close their doors, announced Jean Castex on Monday.
They will again have to keep their doors closed. Jean Castex announced, this Monday evening, the closing of the discotheques for four weeks from this Friday.
A decision justified by the progression of the fifth wave of Covid-19 and by the difficulty of applying barrier measures in these establishments. “The virus circulates a lot among young people and wearing a mask is difficult in these places”, thus justified the Prime Minister who spoke during a televised address Monday evening. “We will do this by providing economic support to the people concerned”, he added.
France is not the only country to take such a decision. A few days earlier, Belgium had indeed announced a new turn of the screw in social life to stem the sharp rise in Covid contamination, forcing nightclubs to close and the population to limit its contacts and indoor activities as much as possible.
