Income tax department’s e-filing web portal will be closed from 1 to 6 June, big change is going to be from 7 June


This is big news for income tax payers. The e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department will be closed from June 1 to June 6. While a new e falling portal will be launched from 7 June. The Income Tax Department gave this information on Thursday.

Income tax department told- Income tax department will launch its new e-filing portal http://incometax.gov.in on 7 June 2021. The existing ITD portal http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in will not be available for taxpayers / other stakeholders for short time. 6 days duration from June 1, 2021 to June 6, 2021.

Increased deadline for income tax return deposit

The government on Thursday extended the deadline for submitting personal income tax returns for two months to 30 September 2021. At the same time, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has increased the deadline for filing of income tax returns for companies by one month to 30 November.

As per the Income Tax Act, the persons whose accounts are not required to be audited and who usually file their income tax returns using ITR-1 or ITR-4, the deadline for filing ITR is 31 July. For companies such as companies or firms whose accounts are required to be audited, the deadline is October 31.

CBDT said in a circular that in view of the crisis arising due to corona virus epidemic, the deadline has been extended for some tax compliance with the intention of providing relief to taxpayers. Also, the deadline for employers to issue Form 16 to employees has been extended by one month to July 15, 2021.
