16 lakh accounts banned
WhatsApp banned over 1.6 million accounts of Indian users in April. The purpose of this move was to stop harmful activities on the app. WhatsApp has disclosed this by releasing a monthly report. The report said that the company has banned 16.66 lakh accounts based on user complaints to prevent such activities on the app.
The report said, “We are particularly focused on prevention because we believe that it is better to act after harmful activities than not to allow them to happen.” Closes accounts in cases where it feels that the user’s actions are not correct.
18 lakh accounts banned in March
