Hallesche FC’s guest appearance in Kaiserslautern on Saturday (2 p.m.) will be a showdown for the centre-forwards.
Against Halle, of all places, Terrence Boyd (30) should make his debut in FCK dress. And it won’t be any less emotional for his successor on the Saale. Elias Huth (24) came to HFC in an exchange with Boyd from the Palatinate.
The attacker: “The last week was very special and exciting. With the return to Kaiserslautern it will be really special for me again.”
Because even if Huth doesn’t make any big announcements in public before the game, a sporting account with the red devils is already open. He has played 74 games for FCK since 2018. 58 of them were used as jokers and mostly only for a few minutes.
Huth: “All in all, I had a very good time in Lautern, but things didn’t go as well in terms of sport. That’s not easy to explain either. But I would do well to put that aside now and look ahead.”
Huth wants to be happy again on the pitch. It is not unlikely that he will storm from the start on the Betzenberg for the first time. Coach André Meyer (38): “That’s definitely an option. And it would be nice if he played and maybe rounded off the result for us with a decisive goal.”
► Justin Eilers (33) injured his ankle in training and will be out for at least four weeks.
