Bitter news for Hertha in the relegation battle.
As the Berliners announced today, striker Krzysztof Piatek (25) suffered a fracture in his ankle yesterday in the 2-1 away win against Schalke 04. That was the result of an examination in the morning.
The striker is missing for the Berliners in the two remaining games against Cologne on Saturday and a week later in Hoffenheim.
Coach Pal Dardai had to complain about many failures against Schalke. Among others, attacker Jhon Cordoba, offensive player Matheus Cunha, Maximilian Mittelstädt and ex-world champion Sami Khedira were missing in the relegation battle.
Hertha is currently in 13th place in the table with 34 points and can already secure the Bundesliga stay with a win against Cologne.
