SC Magdeburg is back in victory mode. After the home defeat against Kiel and the draw in the European League in Lisbon, the Bundesliga leaders beat Hannover-Burgdorf last night 30:22 (14:11).
SCM trainer Bennet Wiegert again had to do without Michael Damgaard (knee problems). The Dane was definitely able to get over it, because: Damgaard has become the father of a little daughter for the second time. Congratulations!
The SCM struggled with starting problems. In the 18th minute, the Wiegert team was 6:7 behind. Magdeburg missed several chances, and Omar Ingi Magnusson failed twice from the seven-meter line. Shortly before the break, the hosts finally ignited the turbo. Lukas Mertens scored to make it 12:8 (26th).
In the second round, the SCM effortlessly extended its lead. Keeper Jannick Green shone with strong saves and didn’t let a ball into the goal for eleven minutes. Best thrower at the end: Magnusson (8 goals).
