Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton & Co. will drive in Las Vegas from 2023

From 2023 in Las Vegas, gas will not only be given to the machines!

Formula 1 will drive in the desert city for the first time next season. The Grand Prix will be the third in the United States after Austin (Texas) and Miami (Florida). This is the result of the great boom that the premier class of motorsport has experienced in recent years.

The 6.12-kilometre course leads past what is probably the most famous hotel in the world, Caesars Palace, and the imitation Eiffel Tower. On the street circuit, Lewis Hamilton (37), Max Verstappen (24) & Co. should reach a top speed of over 340 km/h.

In order to open up the new market, Formula 1 breaks with a long tradition. The race will take place on Saturday evening. Actually, the Grand Prixs always take place on Sundays. For the German fans, however, little will probably change. With the time difference, the race will probably take place in the early hours of the morning. There is no exact date yet, but it should take place in November.

Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali (56): “This is an incredible moment for Formula 1, which demonstrates the enormous appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the USA. Las Vegas is a destination known around the world for its excitement, hospitality, thrills and of course the famous Strip.”

The Formula 1 boss continued: “There is no better place for a Formula 1 race than the global capital of entertainment and we can’t wait to be there next year. I would like to thank everyone involved in making this event happen.”

And have made it possible for Las Vegas to step on the gas outside of the vending machines from 2023 onwards.
