Formula 1 in Bahrain: Coulthard’s 50th birthday: Verstappen’s cake attack

A piece of cake belongs to a milestone birthday …

Wild scenes after the Formula 1 qualifying in Bahrain. Pole-setter Max Verstappen (23) pressed a super creamy chocolate cake out of nowhere in the face of British TV expert David Coulthard!

Background: The Scot turned 50 on Saturday and was to be honored with the cake from his former team (ā€œDCā€ drove for Red Bull from 2005 to 2008).

But the cheeky Dutchman Verstappen apparently didn’t just want to hand over the cake, he simply smacked Coulthard in the face in the middle of the pit lane.

Coulthard took the action lightly, even took another hearty bite into the completely ruined cake that he had pulled from his face after the attack.

There was also a counterattack by the 246-time Grand Prix starter, but Verstappen used his fitness advantage and Coulthard sprinted away easily.

Incidentally, the cake in the pit lane was not the only surprise for David Coulthard from Red Bull. At noon the Brause racing team posted a photo with “DC”, Boss Horner, chief designer Newey and the drivers Verstappen and Perez with congratulations and another cake .

If you looked closely, you noticed that the one candle on the cake had apparently been dropped in a very specific place by accident.

An allusion to the manhood of the Scotsman, once notorious in the paddock …
