Transfer quake in the NFL!
Two discarded mega-stars have a new team:
Cam Newton (32), who was eliminated from the New England Patriots before the start of the season, joins the Carolina Panthers.
Odell Beckham Jr. (29), who was just dumped with the Cleveland Browns, has signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
Two great transfers in the NFL!
It’s a very special return for Newton. The quarterback led the Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2015 (10:24 against the Denver Broncos).
According to ESPN information, he could make $ 10 million by the end of the season. 4.5 million should be guaranteed.
In 2011 the Panthers Newton (came from Auburn) drafted first. In 2019 he was released because he repeatedly had shoulder and foot injuries.
In 2020 he started 15 Patriots games before being fired before this season. He was preferred to quarterback talent Mac Jones. In the US media it was said that it had something to do with his vaccination status. Allegedly he was a vaccination opponent. Last month Newton posted a video on YouTube assuring him that he was vaccinated.
The Panthers were in dire straits after it became clear that playmaker Sam Darnold would be out for four to six weeks with a shoulder injury. So the deal with Newton was fixed.
Beckham was a free agent after the Browns terminated his contract. He gives the Rams even more depth in their already strong offensive, including quarterback Matthew Stafford and super receiver Cooper Kupp. LA is one of the title favorites – and could get even better with the “old” Odell! The wide receiver disappointed at Cleveland, had its best time with the New York Giants.
The Rams had already strengthened themselves with Defense ace Von Miller.
Beckham is a sidekick of basketball player LeBron James. The Lakers mega-star greeted him immediately on Twitter: “Welcome to LA, my brother!”
Odell’s dad caused a scandal last week when he posted a video showing plays in which Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield did NOT pass the ball to his son. So he apparently wanted to force a trade. Instead, the Browns terminated his contract.
He is supposed to sign a one-year contract with the Rams. Until recently, Odell is said to have been interested in a deal with the Green Bay Packers.
Now the NFL fans are absolutely over the moon with these two hammer transfers!
