Eulen Ludwigshafen: handball club suddenly without a hall because of the vaccination center

Handball Bundesliga club Eulen Ludwigshafen is suddenly homeless. Because of the corona pandemic, the club will be without a home venue from December because the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle is to become a vaccination center.

Eulen managing director Lisa Heßler writes on the club’s homepage: “I was informed by phone on Tuesday that the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle will be converted into a vaccination center for about half a year and that we will therefore be able to use it from December 1st, 2020 is no longer available as a home ground. ”

Heßler and the club are in shock: “We were made by this decision without warning or premonition, without the chance to talk about the timing or alternative possibilities, but above all without any starting point where the Eulen Ludwigshafen as the sporting figurehead of the city of Ludwigshafen and Rhineland-Palatinate can now play their home games. That irritates, shocks and makes you think. “

The savior in an emergency could be the competition: Other Bundesliga clubs have already offered help. The owls are now checking whether the home games can be played alternately there. In close proximity to Ludwigshafen, for example, is the SAP Arena in Mannheim, home of the Rhein-Neckar Löwen.
