The insolvent relegation candidate celebrates!
Türkgücü Munich creates the sensation, defeats TSV 1860 2:1 (0:0) in the third division city duel and thus ends the promotion dreams of the lions.
“We don’t need to worry about promotion at the moment,” said 1860 coach Michael Köllner after the game in front of 8,350 fans in the Olympic Stadium.
Türkgücü slams the door to the 2nd league for TSV!
In the catch-up game (had to be canceled in January due to corona infections at 1860), Türkgücü is impressively fighting for survival in the league.
At the end of this week, the decision should be made as to how many points the DFB Türkgücü will deduct because of the bankruptcy application. It can be up to nine – how good are the three won last night!
With their backs to the wall, the team of Ösi trainer Andreas Heraf (54) works magic and doesn’t let the lions come into play. The only notable 1860 chance in the first half: Yannick Deichmann pulls from 17 meters, fails Türkgücü keeper Franco Flückinger.
The lions, previously unbeaten in six games, can’t think of anything and again it’s the last 15 minutes that cost them points.
77 minutes: The 1860 defense unsorted, striker Eric Hottmann takes the ball with his left knee and acrobatically conjures it into the goal with a lateral pull – a dream goal!
The lions went into shock, then defender Niklas Lang fouled the goal scorer in the penalty area, veteran Sercan Sararer safely converted the penalty to 2-0 (84th).
Only Richard Neudecker (25) shows his skills with the lions, single-handedly shortening the lead to 1: 2 (90th) – too late, of course.
Türkgücü celebrates the first victory since mid-October and draws some hope.
Köllner clearly: “This bankruptcy is really painful. That was too little, technically too bad. We don’t have to worry about dreams now.”
