After extending the period of closure of production by Maruti Suzuki and Hero MotoCorp, Toyota and Kirloskar have also decided to close their plants for ten more days. With this, Ford India has also decided to close its plant at Sanand for the whole of May. While its factory in Chennai will be closed for ten more days.
Production stopped due to supply shortage of semi-conductor: Ford India
Ford India has said that production has to be stopped due to the fall in the supply of semi-conductors. Hero MotoCorp right there. Had said that keeping in mind the health and safety of the employees, it is currently shutting down production till 15 May at its plant. Both Hero MotoCorp and Suzuki announced a production shutdown from 9 to 15 May. Kirloskar has extended his shutdown from May 14 to 23. This means that not a single car will be built here for the next one month.
Hyundai Motors also closed the factory
Hyundai Motors shut down for a week. His shutdown has started from Monday. The company has said that it is closely monitoring the situation. Where possible the company has ordered work from home. Honda Cars India and Mahindra & Mahindra have also decided to stop production. Honda Cars’ factory located at Tapukara in Rajasthan will be closed from 8 to 20 May. Mahindra and Mahindra will stop production for a few days in turn at factories in Chakan, Nashik Kandivali, Haridwar and Zahirabad.
