Boxing: After nine months: Peter Kadiru hopes for growth spurt

2020 was the most successful year for boxing professional Peter Kadiru (24). Despite Corona, the heavyweight fought four times and won the WBC Junior World Championship and the German championship title.

Then he flew twice to sparring with world champion Anthony Joshua (31 / England) and a training camp in the desert of Dubai. “All of this has brought me a lot,” says the unbeaten Hamburger (10 wins). “Now it can finally start again in the ring!”

On Saturday, Kadiru will return to the ring after a nine-month break (10:35 p.m., MDR). Adnan Redzovic (44 / Bosnia) is the set-up opponent at the SES Summer Open Air on the floating stage in Magdeburg. In the fall, Kadiru is supposed to defend one of his belts.

Coach Christian Morales is convinced that his protégé (1.94 meters) has taken the next development step: “Peter grew again in the camp at AJ. We realized that we are not that far from the class, the league of world champions, like Joshua. He must now continue to implement this experience in the ring! “
