Big meeting regarding e-filing portal in the midst of competition to file Income Tax Return before December 31

Income Tax Return Update: Income Tax Return  The last date to fill up is 31st December. Obviously all the taxpayers would like to file their return before the deadline. It is believed that in this peak period, the number of people filing returns on the income tax portal will increase. In view of this, Revenue Secretary Tarun Bajaj has held an important meeting with Infosys CEO Salil Parikh and his team.

3.59 crore income tax returns filed

Till December 15, 3.59 crore taxpayers have filed returns on the new e-filing portal of Income Tax. As the date of December 31 is approaching, more than 6 lakh people are filing income tax returns every day. 3.11 crore returns have also been verified in these returns.  90.95 crore refunds have been issued for 2021-22 after processing 2.38 crore ITRs.
