IN PICTURES – Free of its heavy drapes and rustic decor, this apartment reveals its luminosity and modernity while gaining a bedroom in the dining room.
Admittedly, this apartment to be transformed was not born under a bad star. Located in the wealthy town of Neuilly-sur-Seine, it had a comfortable surface area of 100 m² and was designed in the 1960s in a modernist architecture with clean lines and a rational plan. But it was really out of date for the couple with two children who were going to settle there. Thanks to the intervention of teams from the Parisian agency Camille Hermand architectures, the advantages of this accommodation were once again revealed.
No more heavy hangings and rustic furniture. The light now comes in from all sides to enjoy the trees around the residence and a soft light. Soft colors (old pink, pearl gray, water green) accompany the pure lines of the apartment as well as the noble materials: oak herringbone parquet throughout the accommodation, linen curtains, marble table … But the work was not limited to the decoration to best match the lifestyle of the new occupants.

For its part, the entrance has gained in freshness and storage space and the kitchen has received the same contemporary treatment. The door separating the pantry from the kitchen has been removed, again to install as much storage space as possible, and the window has been cleared of its sink. The small room breathes and accommodates storage and columns on the full height.
The bedrooms also have the right to their wall of cupboards while the child’s room, an upholstered niche is provided for a bed that will grow with the child. Last optimization: the guest toilets have been redone and narrowed down. The space gained could be recovered to install a small laundry room.
