For VfB loan Omar Marmoush (23) the course is set for the future!
Tuesday evening (7 p.m.) it will be decided in the playoff second leg in Senegal whether he will take part in the Winter World Cup in Qatar with Egypt. Marmoush and Co. won the first leg 1-0.
And it’s already clear: he has to go back to Wolfsburg at the end of the season. VfL sporting director Jörg Schmadtke in the “Wolfsburger Allgemeine”: “Omar is coming back to us in the summer. His development is just good. Both the loan to St. Pauli and the one now did him good. You can see the potential he has and he uses it more often now than he did with us.”
In the second half of the previous season, Marmoush was loaned to St. Pauli for six months (seven goals and three assists in 21 games). At the end of August, Mislintat brought the Egyptian to VfB on loan. A good grip.
Marmoush was missing from VfB for a total of nine weeks (Africa Cup, foot injury, Corona). Yet when he played, he was a win (three goals and four assists in 15 games).
And this is what the future looks like for the three other VfB loan players:
★ Konstantinos Mavropanos (24): VfB will sign him permanently. In case of relegation Stuttgart has a purchase obligation, in case of relegation a free purchase option. In both cases, the agreed base fee is EUR 3 million.
★ Hiroki Ito (22): VfB had to pull the purchase option for him in January. Stuttgart transferred 400,000 euros to Jubilo Iwata.
★ Tiago Tomas (19): The Portuguese was loaned out by Sporting Lisbon at the end of January for around 500,000 euros until the summer of 2023. Afterwards, VfB has a purchase option, 15 million euros should be fixed as a transfer fee.
